Compensation Commission

General Information

As stated in the Codified Ordinance of Litchfield, Michigan

Title Eight, Chapter 276, Section 276.02: Determination of Salaries; Expense Allowances or Reimbursements

a) The Local Officers Compensation Commission shall determine the salaries of all elected officials of the City of Litchfield, which determination shall be the salaries for such elected officials unless the legislative body, by a resolution adopted by two-thirds of the members elected and serving on the legislative body, rejects them.

b) The determinations of the Commission shall be effective thirty days following their filing with the City Clerk, unless rejected by the legislative body. In the case of rejection, the existing salaries shall prevail.

c) Any expense allowance or reimbursement paid to elected officials in addition to their salaries shall be for expenses incurred in the course of City business and accounted for to the City.
